Alison Goldfrapp的首張專輯《The Love Invention》是，誠實而熱情地寫給迪斯科舞廳的一封情書，也讓她成功地華麗轉身加入「21世紀disco queen」行列之中。。

打從90年代曾為Orbital、Dread Zone、Tricky作品獻聲，經過身為Goldfrapp成員再到終於發表這張個人專輯，簡單說，她在《The Love Invention》裡展現的那種既飄渺迷離卻富含情感張力就是最大魅力來源，透過大量華麗合成器音色以及縱橫全場的復古動感synth-pop/disco節奏襯托，最後以感性柔美的PBR&B樂章〈SLoFLo）閉幕，足以帶你無憂無慮地甩開一切抑鬱煩躁的瑣事。

附帶一提，《The Love Invention》的其中一位共同製作人，是曾被譽為2000年代初期mashup先鋒之一，也為M.I.A.、Annie、Kelis等女將操刀製作過的Richard X。
