Description

一開始對於Beatrice Melissa這個法國雙人組合一無所知，單純是因為這個封面意象奇妙地讓我聯想起自己高愛的The Radio Dept.作品《Lesser Matters》。

Beatrice Melissa 是由原本以UK club、techno路線為主的DJ製作人Beatrice Masters與正統古典鋼琴訓練出身的avant-pop創作歌手Melissa Weikart共組。

結果，這張《Secret》並未如自己預期地流露出《Lesser Matters》般的shoegaze、twee pop韻味，卻反倒帶給我喜出望外的驚喜，一聽就愛上。

開場曲〈Game〉踏著輕巧2-step節拍而來讓人如沐春風，定調了這張專輯以法式浪漫夢幻情懷貫穿trip-hop、UKG、drum & bass、tech house、electro-pop等電子舞曲語彙的交融拼貼，在冷靜、飄浮的氛圍中圍繞著帶有雌雄同體、跨語境氣質的虛構主角，呈現「兩股能量融合為單一存在」的概念敘事。

〈Fight〉喚起我對於Cibo Matto的美好回憶，是更加分的附加價值。
