Explosions in the Sky每次的回歸，對於台灣後搖滾樂迷而言都是值得引頸期盼的盛事，但這次暌違7年之久的全新專輯命名為《END》 或許會讓大家虛驚一場。事實上樂團已強調《END》不是最後一張作品也沒有要解散），只是要透過樂器堆疊鋪陳與聲響探索所建構的電影配樂氛圍，傳達關於終結與復活是一體共生的概念，不禁讓人想起1997年The Smashing Pumpkins為《Batman & Robin》帶來主題曲的歌名〈The End Is the Beginning Is the End〉。
