Description

身為搖滾天團Linkin Park的靈魂人物之一，Fort Minor這個由Mike Shinoda精心策劃的side project，在這張於2005年發表的首張專輯《The Rising Tied》中，徹底揉合Boogie Down Productions、Wu-Tang Clan、The Notorious B.I.G.、N.W.A.、Run-DMC等最愛經典的影響，從而反映其深厚hip hop/rap底蘊。還邀來Jay-Z出任執行製作，並網羅The Roots成員Black Thought、Common、neo-soul才子John Legend等多位大將跨刀助陣。

此外，多年好友兼自家廠牌旗下單位Styles Of Beyond無疑是整個Fort Minor計劃中不可或缺的一股力量，多首作品中都可見到他們的演出聲影，其中〈Remember The Name〉在大量弦樂鋪陳下張力直逼Cypress Hill單曲〈(Rap)Superstar〉。至於〈Where’d You Go?〉肯定是專輯中最為動人的慢板樂章，苦澀感傷的hip hop ballad曲式中，自家廠牌Machine Shop女歌手Holly Brook惹人心疼的天使嗓音與加州Alternative Metal樂團Far主唱Jonah Matranga的Rappin'演繹相呼應。
