還有朋友記得在90年代中葉以降的post-Britpop紀元中崛起的英國樂團Gomez嗎？當年Gomez憑著1998年首張專輯《Bring It On》崛起，以初生之犢的姿態力克The Verve、Massive Attack奪下當年Mercury Music Prize為樂迷所津津樂道，的確為英國獨立樂界注入另一股截然不同的音樂能量。

而他們在2000年推出了這張集未發行B-side作品、現場演出版本、outtakes稀有錄音而成的合輯《Abandoned Shopping Trolley Hotline》。不只是繼續展現該團那種破格融合傳統藍調、鄉村、迷幻民謠、hip-hop而成的折衷創作視野，而是能更淋漓盡致地突顯樂團骨子裡的實驗基因。
