90年代post-rock場景中不能遺漏的實驗鬼才Jim O’Rouke，身為Gastr Del Sol成員之一的他不僅與Tortoise、The High Llamas、Sonic Youth、Superchunk、Aluminum Group、Stereolab等有過合作經驗，風格多元，被視為連接實驗與獨立搖滾的重要樞紐。 

《Bad Timing》是Jim O’Rouke於1997年的今天（8/25）所發表，全專輯四首皆為以木吉他指彈為主軸，美學上將John Fahey引領的American primitive風格嵌入後搖與極簡的脈絡，同時標誌著從他從實驗與自由即興轉入旋律導向語彙，為隨後更偏流行寫作的《Eureka》鋪路。
