在他為《Deadpool》、《Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice》、《Mad Max: Fury Road》......等一部又一部大片譜寫電影配樂而更廣為人知之前，你還記得、或者接觸過Junkie XL在2000年代以DJ/電子製作人身份帶來的《Radio JXL: A Broadcast from the Computer Hell Cabin》與《Today》這兩張出色專輯嗎？

事實上自己對於Junkie XL接觸始於90年代末期，因為他在1997年時發表的首張專輯《Saturday Teenage Kick》正好趕上方興未艾的big beat/chemical beat風潮。而於2003年發表的耗時三年完成、透過概念專輯式手法建構虛擬電台的《Radio JXL: A Broadcast from the Computer Hell Cabin》，初回版是一張雙CD野心之作――名為「3PM」的CD1網羅了Solomon Burke、前Republica女主唱Saffron、Feeder主唱Grant Nicholas、Depeche Mode主唱Dave Gahan、Gary Numan、The Cure主唱Robert Smith這樣的夢幻陣容跨刀獻聲，體現了更為song-oriented面向的多元化club music格局，名為「3AM」的CD2則全然返回電音製作人的本位。
