以Jonathan Davis為首的Korn，在1998年發表了這張由漫畫《Spawn》作者繪製封面的90年代nu-metal名盤《Follow The Leader》。

之所以能憑藉其最初的alternative funk-metal風格成為美國搖滾圈post-grunge紀元中最受歡迎與最具革新意圖的名字，Korn所憑藉的便是那在重金屬外衣下所抱持的破格創作企圖，甚至《Follow The Leader》在gangsta rap大老Ice Cube、Limp Bizkit主唱Fred Durst以及hip-hop組合The Pharcyde成員Tre Hardson跨刀下不張揚地揉合hip-hop groove與rappin'技巧，更被視為成功啟動90年代末rap-metal革命的重要一擊，而專輯中所收錄的單曲〈Got The Life〉也是nu-metal國歌之一！

此外，《Follow The Leader》還一舉登上Billboard專輯榜王座，這不單是樂團本身的一個重要里程碑，更標示著metal-oriented類型音樂在90年代流行工業中的一個重要印記——畢竟這是繼Metallica的《Loaded》後又一次出現的金屬類冠軍專輯。
