AllMusic 2003年度100大專輯

來自洛杉磯音樂大廠 Stones Throw的美美彩膠新發行，所說的是法國/洛杉磯迷幻雙人組合 Pearl & The Oysters 新專輯《Coast 2 Coast》。

Pearl & The Oysters 由主唱 Juliette（Pearl）與鍵盤手 Joachim（The Oysters）組成。兩人在高中時於巴黎相遇，很快地因共同音樂與文化喜好而建立了深厚的情感。由於對音樂的渴求，2015 年他們從法國搬至美國佛羅里達州，又於 2020 年搬到洛杉磯，也是目前從事音樂工作的地方。在 2017 至 2021 年間發行了三張專輯，2022 年 Pearl & The Oysters 與廠牌 Stones Throw 正式簽約，隨單曲〈Pacific Ave〉、〈Konami〉、〈Paraiso〉陸續推出，2023 年 4 月也在眾所期盼之下迎來新專輯《Coast 2 Coast》。

《Coast 2 Coast》是一張具有迷幻風味的 synth pop/dream pop 專輯，且深受日本音樂、文化與樂器影響。反映著 Juliette 與 Joachim 經常搬家的生活，專輯寫的是關於他們在巴黎、佛羅里達州的沼澤、風光明媚的南加州等地度過的時光。

「在經歷多次搬家之後，我們覺得四處都是家，四處也都不是家。也許這就是為什麼我們喜歡寫一些關於那些讓我們感覺良好的地方的歌。現在，我們也在彼此身上找到了『家』的感覺」Juliette 說到新專輯《Coast 2 Coast》。

《Coast 2 Coast》有著 Stereolab 一樣的溫暖迷幻色彩，更繼承了 Stones Throw 優異的 indie pop 血統如 Benny Sings 和 Jerry Paper，熱愛日本音樂文化的 Pearl & The Oysters 也表示深受傳奇人物 YMO、 Cornelius 影響，體現於視覺、製作、甚至是現場演出，專輯中也不乏 Pearl & The Oysters 喜愛的音樂人共同參與，包括 Stereolab 的 Lætitia Sadier 客串演唱以及 Mild High Club 的 Alex Brettin 吉他彈奏等等。
