回顧big beat風潮在90年代的發展，Propellerheads無疑是眾多所謂「post-The Chemical Brothers」好手中最晚推出首張專輯的單位，但正如同拆解專輯名稱所揭櫫的「decks + drums + rock & roll」，不斷驅動放克與搖滾動能的同時還完美揉合 acid house、punk、hip-hop等元素，證明這張big beat名盤在當時能與 The Chemical Brothers 的《Exit Planet Dust》相提並論還獲水星音樂獎提名絕非浪得虛名，更能躋身英國金榜十大而為樂迷所津津樂道。

此外，專輯中除了有Shirley Bassey與De La Soul跨刀外，另一話題所在則是〈On Her Majesty's Secret Service〉即為007電影《女王密使 On Her Majesty's Secret Service》經典主題樂章的全新版本。
