商品描述

長青殿堂級另類搖滾樂團Sonic Youth於1990年發表了首度與主流大廠DGC Records合作的第八張專輯《Goo》，但這並不意味著他們有任何面向的商業妥協，反之其鋒利的稜角與反叛的姿態依舊強悍，在火力全開的noise-rock樂章中探討了女性賦權和流行文化的主題，其中由Kim Gordon創作的兩首歌曲〈Tunic (Song for Karen)〉和〈Kool Thing〉更是挑戰美國社會對女性角色的期望。

音樂表現上值得特別留意的部分，還有〈Mildred Pierce〉和〈Scooter and Jinx〉中聲響拼貼手法反映了該團受到musique concrète理論影響。 

此外，更必須一提的是封面故事。這個為大家所熟悉的封面由藝術家 Raymond Pettibon所繪製，是他從報紙上看到的新聞照片，這兩人是1966年沼澤謀殺案的關鍵人——夫妻檔Maureen Hindley和David Smith，背後其實封存的是駭人聽聞的殘酷連續殺童案「Moors murders」——Myra Hindley（與前面提到的Maureen是姐妹關係）和她的戀人Ian Brady在1963到1964年間殺害5個孩童。
