由主唱Chris Cornell所領軍、昔日grunge三巨頭之一的西雅圖樂團Soundgarden的第三張大碟《Badmotorfinger》，對於當時grunge風潮的全面爆發絕對居功厥偉，但音樂上還是一定程度維持了該團的重金屬根源，而由此範疇製作大將Terry Date（Metal Church、Dream Theater、Pantera）掌舵（吉他手更戲稱這張專輯是「heavy metal 《White Album》」），也帶來〈Jesus Christ Pose〉、〈Outshined〉、〈Rusty Cage〉等單曲。
