由山下達郎（吉他/主唱）、大貫妙子（主唱）、村松邦男（吉他）組成的シュガー・ベイブ（Sugar Babe），唯一一張正式專輯《SONGS》於1971年在大瀧詠一自創廠牌NIAGARA所發表，融合西洋yacht rock、soul、jazz fusion等元素，可說是延續 Happy End 對「日語 × 西洋流行/搖滾」的探索並在編曲與和聲呈現上來得更精緻細膩與更多層次，以city pop美學的奠基之姿對近代日本流行音樂發展帶來深遠影響，當中一曲〈DOWN TOWN〉也被公認最具代表性的city pop 先驅名曲之一。
