這是個人最愛的Smashing Pumpkins作品。

1995 年的今天（10/23），美國另類搖滾樂團Smashing Pumpkins發表了這張第三張錄音室專輯。無意複製《Siamese Dream》成功模式的他們，在英國的Flood（U2、PJ Harvey、Depeche Mode • Nine Inch Nails）及 Alan Moulder（My Bloody Valentine、Lush、The Curve）入替 Butch Vig 接手製作一職後，帶來向自身極限挑戰、以更強大音樂包容性跳出 grunge 舊有框框的「雙專輯」——劃分爲「Dawn Lo Dusk」與「 Twilight To Starlight」兩大主題——的概念性大碟《Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness》，從而在當時被推崇為猶如90年代的《White Album》（The Beatles概念double album）。

多達28首曲目中除誕生〈Zero〉、〈Bullet With Butterfly Wings〉、〈1979〉、〈Tonight, Tonight〉等90年代另類搖滾金曲之外，私心特愛兩首吉他手James Iha有參與創作的慢板小品——溫婉輕柔、並透著絲絲傷感的〈Take Me Down〉，有當年女神貝斯手D'Arcy獻聲、寧靜如夜晚催眠曲的閉幕曲〈Farewell And Goodnight〉。
